ABOUT THE NAVY LEAGUE
The Navy League of the United States was founded in 1902 with the encouragement of President Theodore Roosevelt. We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) educational and advocacy organization that supports America’s sea services — the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine. The Navy League has provided a powerful voice for a stronger sea service to Congress and to the American people.
We are a military service organization, rather than a veterans’ organization, although we cherish and support our veterans and wounded warriors. We are the trusted civilian partners of the sea services, supporting their mission, their personnel and their families. We also believe in building a strong foundation for those services through youth programs that teach duty, honor and respect for this country and provide a path into the sea services.
The Navy League is a morale-enhancing organization comprised of 65,000 patriotic civilians in 250 councils worldwide who volunteer their time to give members of the sea services the support and recognition they deserve.
The Beverly Hills Council of the Navy League of the U.S chartered in 1957 proudly sponsors & has adopted the USS HAMPTON (SSN-767), U.S. Coast Guard Air Station, USCGC Halibut (WPB-87340), NROTC UCLA, and the SEA CADET CORPS S.S Lane Victory Division.
You need not have served in the military to be a member of the Navy League.
